ID076-RESOURCES FOR YOUNG WOMEN

Dear Girls,

Attached (as a pdf id076-resources-for-young-women.pdf) is the last Issacharian Daughters newsletter for the next four months. In less than two weeks I’m getting married! During the next four months I will be settling into my new role as a wife and help meet! The Lord has been so good to me.

Delight yourself in the Lord and He will give you the desires of your heart. Psalm 37v4

This is so true!

The text for the newsletter follows this note for those of you who have difficulties opening the pdf. To see the photos you will need to open the pdf.

Prayer Request

Last week I received an email from Issacharian Daughter Rebecca Davis in California saying that her 41-year-old father had just passed away. He was out with one of Rebecca’s sisters when his heart failed. Please pray for Rebecca and her family as they mourn the loss of a dear father and husband and look to the Lord, their new Father and Husband, for comfort.

Providentially, Rebecca and her family belong to a church that believes in looking after the orphans and the widows. Her church has set up a trust fund to help this family. Rebecca has five younger siblings two of whom were only just recently adopted from overseas. For updates, to financially or prayerfully support this family and to communicate with them please visit their website: http://lazydranch8.blogspot.com/ or Pastor James MacDonald’s blog: http://familyreformation.wordpress.com.

Introductions

My name is Felicity Hanlon and I am 18 years old. I live at home with my sister who is older than me, my younger brother and my parents in Hamilton, New Zealand. I also have another brother who doesn’t always live at home as he works on a farm. I love being at home, learning how to be a Godly homemaker and helpmeet for my future husband (Lord willing :-) Some of my interests include cooking for our family, reading good non-fiction books on various subjects, music (playing piano and Oboe and singing), gardening, sewing (I am currently learning how to be a good seamstress :-) , the outdoors (hiking and just enjoying the beautiful Creation that God has given to us), and other hand crafts such as knitting. I am very thankful to the Lord for turning my heart toward the home over the past few years. I am on a daily road to learning all He wants from me. Not every day is easy, but I have the Lord to help me, so I can face each new challenge! I am grateful to my parents, who have helped give me a vision for the future generations to come and for all they have done for me. I would love to email/write to any other Issacharian Daughters, here in New Zealand or anywhere else. My email address is: cafjam@maxnet.co.nz

Hi, I am one of ten children. We have always been homeschooled and love it. We live in the southern United States. I have been much encouraged by your past newsletters, and look forward to hearing more from you.

May God bless you, Miss Kathryn Leamons

Hello, I am a stay-at-home-daughter. Thank you for your awesome articles! Carla Deshield

Letter from a reader

Dear Genevieve,

I am the mother of four children. My oldest is a nearly 12-year-old girl and I have a new baby on the way. I subscribed to your newsletter when we moved to Hamilton six months ago. I wanted to check out what it was all about before my daughter read any of it. I am sad to say that even in our church we don’t get much support when it comes to home educating, modesty, respect for parents and elders, no TV, etc. We seem to be quite different in so many ways. Your newsletters have been comforting as they reflect our beliefs. I have also ordered a couple of books and the Return of the Daughters DVD last week and I wanted to let you know that I am most pleased. We watched the DVD as a family and it had a strong influence on my daughter and myself (she is very helpful to her brother today!). It also reaffirmed my important position as a mother and wife. I guess we all need a bit of a boost occasionally.

We are looking forward to your newsletters every week.

God bless you,

Eva McComb

Warm regards,

Genevieve Smith

Dear Girls,

Resources for Young Women

In just over a week, on Saturday, 16 February 2008 at 10:00 am I will be married to my darling fiancé, Pete de Deugd at the All Saints Church in Palmerston North, New Zealand.

Once I’m married my primary responsibility will be to help my husband (as it has been to help my dad and strengthen my family until now). And there will be lots to do to help him! Pete is halfway through building a house for the two of us which we will finish off together. Until then I’ll be cooking over a gas ring, doing dishes with a hose and bucket and filling a chilly bin (ice chest) with frozen plastic bottles as a makeshift fridge! I’m going to become Pete’s office manager and look after his accounts and he is going to teach me different things about his sawmill and woodworking business so that I can help him while he works.

Pete would love to see me carry on the Issacharian Daughters newsletter (as I would too!) and to have a ministry himself to you all through the newsletter. Lord willing this will be a possibility in the future. In the meantime, over the time of the wedding and as I get settled into my new role and take on my new responsibilities we have decided it would be prudent for me to put aside the newsletter for the next four months.

Until then, if you haven’t read all the newsletters you can access them all at http://www.issacharian.com.

And I’ll also leave you with some other resources. Over the past few weeks I’ve invited all the readers of the Issacharian Daughters newsletter to send in information about their own ministries to girls whether they are seeking to encourage and exhort girls through a website, blog, newsletter or book. Lots of you have emailed me with information about your sites. I haven’t looked at them all, but am familiar with these first two which I heartily recommend!

› Shining Stars Magazine

Hello, my name is Hannah Washburn, and I would like to let you know about a quarterly magazine that I am in the process of starting. It is called Shining Stars Magazine, and my goal is that it will be used to encourage young ladies (especially those who are single) who want to walk in the role of Biblical Womanhood, instead of follow in the ways of the world.

The magazine is to be made up of submissions from readers and others. I want to provide a place where young ladies can encourage each other, and everyone is welcome to share whatever they would like to, though sometimes space will be limited.

I am not charging a subscription price. I want this to be available to everyone that would like it, even if they cannot pay for it. I do encourage readers to help cover the cost of printing and mailing with donations if they are able to.

I am currently putting together the first issue and hope to have it out by Jan-Feb 2008. If you would like more information, you can email me at shiningstarsmagazine@yahoo.com or write to: Shining Stars, c/o Hannah Washburn, 1022 Cove Hill RD, Woodbury, TN 37190, USA

May you shine like a star! Hannah

Issacharian Daughter

Notes:

I have sent this email to girls who have embraced a vision of victorious daughterhood as well as those who may be thinking about doing so (and even to some girls who may just like some encouragement regarding different areas of home life). Some of the girls are in the USA, UK, Australia and other parts of the world. Most are in New Zealand. You are welcome to forward this email on to others so long as you do so in its entirety. If you do not want to receive these emails please just send a return email to me stating that fact. If you know of other girls who would be encouraged by receiving these emails, feel free to forward the email to them or send me their email address.

The name Issacharian in Issacharian Daughters derives from Issachar, the name of one of the twelve tribes of Israel. In the Old Testament the men of Issachar were commended for understanding the times. Because they understood the times, they knew what they should do. One of my aims with the Issacharian Daughters newsletter is to equip girls to understand the times we live in so that they will know what to do.

  2. If you buy bubble mailers online, you could land up paying as little as $0.13 per piece. The wholesale price of these mailers depends on a couple of things ? first the size of the mailers that you need and second the quantity that you need. You can order as little as 50 mailers at a time or as much as 1000 mailers at a time. The price is determined on your order.
