Thankful for NZ, sad for Connecticut

So thankful for all the work Cynthia and NCHENZ put in to help us all know what best to do to get the Amendment 583 pulled from the Education and Training (System Reform) Bill before it’s 3rd reading.

The USA was not successful with this Bill.

Be alert for more on the Amendment 583. But this time it will be in consultation with Cynthia, NCHENZ and other groups in NZ, as well as home educators. I am sure that Cynthia will have more for us to be actioning in coming days.

From HSLDA:

“Connecticut H.B. 5468 was signed into law.

“This bill profoundly transforms Connecticut from a state where parents had significant freedom, to the only state that imposes mandatory background checks by DCFS on every parent before they can homeschool.

“This is a sobering reminder that opposition to homeschool freedom is an ever present reality. That freedom cannot be taken for granted—it requires constant vigilance from us all.

“While H.B. 5468 is a setback, our work—in partnership with many of you—continues. We remain committed to standing beside them in defense of homeschool freedom for generations to come.”
