Subject: Reviewing Time4Learning.com from a New Zealand perspective

Hi, I was just reading your very impressive website. Frankly, I don’t know much about homeschooling in New Zealand.

I run an online homeschooling service in the US and, having been largely schooled in the UK, am very aware of how different the educational systems are.  I’m wondering if my system, Time4Learning.com, might be of interest  to your community or not. We have a few hundred users from New Zealand, Australia, UK, and South Africa and many of them are not just American expatriates.

If you or any of your members are interested, I could provide a free membership to our service for people to try it.  All I ask is that they provide an opinion of whether, or in what ways, the materials might be useful to homeschoolers in New Zealand. Ideally, they would find that there are ways or situations where it’s useful and so, you might share the review with your membership.

Would you know anyone interested in trying it on that basis? If you wanted to post this somewhere to find volunteers, I could provide several (lets say up 4) family memberships for two months each so long as each family agrees to write a short review of their experiences.

Time4Learning.com is online interactive learning from ages 4 to 14, language arts and math.

  1. Hi Barbara,

I spotted this so thought i will add my 2cents. We have been doing time4learning for the past 2 or so years and we all found it absolutely great. The whole curriculum is on the internet, you have to log in, and complete one set of work before you can go onto the next, so really you study at your own time. There is also full reports for the parents to see what their child has mastered and the areas where more work is needed, and then to top it all off the programme provides you with additional worksheets for help in that area, these can be printed out and then completed, and once done the child logs back into the programme and complete it. I would recommed this to any parent who has little ones from Kindergarden age to year 8. Subjects: Language, Maths, Science and Social Studies. Also the programmes are done with great animation, and is made for kids to understand with lots of funny sayings, etc. Cost: US$30.00 for first child, and US$15.00 for any additional children after that per month. Do try it, you will have more fun than the kids. I will be starting my 3 1/2 year old on this programme this year.

  2. Thanks Rachel for volunteering. I’ll pass your information onto the founder of this programme. I trust you will hear from him soon.

  3. Thanks Yolanda for the great review. I wonder if the founder, John Edelson, has a similar offer for Australia. I’ll send this link to him. Maybe he will give you a discount on your programme for your 3 1/2 year old.

  4. Hi Barbara and Craig!! Our family would love to do this!! Hope you’re all well….Darnia (aka bobsicle)

  5. Bob good to see you here. I haven’t been on the Trademe discussion boards for ages as you will have noticed no doubt.

I have sent your information off to John Edelson. You were the 3rd person I have sent along to him. Others may have contacted him directly. Sounds like a good programme to try.

I’ll try to get to the discussion board again soon.

  6. Hi,
I’d like to volunteer to try this. I have two boys, 5 years and 8 years.
    Thanks,
    Monica
