‘Worldviews in Conflict: Christianity vs Humanism’

An email from Renton Maclachlan

Greetings

I thought you may be interested in my new 13 part video series:

‘Worldviews in Conflict: Christianity vs Humanism’.

It looks at what a worldview is, how we got the one we have, and the fact the Bible presents to us a worldview. It then addresses in a very accessible way the Biblical and Humanistic worldviews. At every opportunity the series utilises animated graphics, videos, and images, to illustrate the spoken word.

Below is a link to its dedicated website:

worldviewsonline.com

The website has a number of short preview clips from the series. The individual episodes vary in length with the total viewing time of the series being 5.5 hours.

There are two options for purchase….one download only, and the other download plus the series on an attractive credit card size Flash Drive.

Extras on the site include a variety of articles illustrating a Biblical worldview approach to various subjects.

The series is suitable for personal, and group study. On the website under ‘Resources’ are some suggestions on how it could be used.

I would appreciate it if you could pass this email on to all and sundry, especially any who you think may be interested.

All the best

Renton Maclachlan

Teach Your Youth How to Read Their Bible

One of the most important tools you can give your teenage children is to teach them how to read and study their Bible. Here are some steps for you and your kids to learn to do this together.

JEN WILKIN | DEC 28, 2018

Parents contact me frequently to ask what devotionals or young adult Bible studies I would recommend they do with their teens. As our kids enter the teen years, our responsibility as their parents is to help them develop good habits of interacting with the Bible. Finding an approach that is age-appropriate and manageable is key. My encouragement is to simply read the Bible with your teen in a way that models and trains Bible literacy—no special teen resource required.

Your teen will be exposed to devotional content and topical studies at every turn, and they likely don’t need a resource that is targeted specifically at their demographic. What most are missing are basic tools to help them read and learn the Bible on their own. By guiding them in some basic study methods, you can position them to use devotional and topical material with far better discernment and far greater benefit, as those types of resources assume a first-hand knowledge of the Bible that many teens have not yet developed. Here is a simple approach that you can adapt to fit the age of your teen:

AGENDA: Grinding America Down (Full Movie) FREE to watch for a limited time!

This is a movie. You’ll need an hour and a half…but is a must see…to inform where we’re at. It’s about America…but really about the free world. Features prominently a Kiwi…who most of us have probably never heard of.  Interesting to see who all are talking on this film – New Zealander Trevor Loudon from NZBlogspot.com, Phyllis Schlafly, Brannon Howse, David Noebel (who spoke at our first World View Conference), Howard Phillips and others.
Geoff Botkin talked about this at the first World View Conference that we put on. He and Craig used to talk about this and the Frankfurt school a lot when he was in New Zealand. Please watch this video.

Guests:

Ken Ham
Ken Ham is the president and founder of Answers in Genesis. A biblical apologist, Ken gives talks to tens of thousands of children and adults each year on such topics as the reliability of the Bible, how compromise over biblical authority has undermined society and even the church, witnessing more effectively, dinosaurs, “races,” etc. Ken co-founded AiG in 1994 with the purpose of upholding the authority of the Bible from the very first verse.

Ken is the author of many books on Genesis, including the eye-opening book Already Gone, co-authored by renowned researcher Britt Beemer on why so many young people have left the church, the best-selling The Lie: Evolution, and a number of children’s books (Dinosaurs of Eden, D is for Dinosaur, A is for Adam, etc.). Other recent co-authored books include One Race, One Blood and How Could a Loving God … ?, and he co-authored the provocative book Already Compromised about Christian colleges and how they treat the authority of the Bible.

Ken is heard daily on the radio feature Answers … with Ken Ham (broadcast on more than 500 stations) and is a frequent guest on national TV talk-show programs. Ken is also the founder of the award-winning Answers magazine, and he writes articles for AiG’s popular website www.AnswersInGenesis.org.

Ken’s bachelor’s degree in applied science (with an emphasis on environmental biology) was awarded by the Queensland Institute of Technology in Australia. He also holds a diploma of education from the University of Queensland (a graduate qualification necessary for Ken to begin his initial career as a science teacher in the public schools in Australia). In recognition of the contribution Ken has made to the church in the USA and internationally, Ken has been awarded four honorary doctorates.

Ken and his wife, Mally, reside in the Cincinnati area. They have five children and seven grandchildren.

Ideas Have Consequences

Ideas Have Consequences

Public schools must deal with random school shootings as a result of their humanist ideologies and the breakdown of family relationships.  What must Christians do when the humanist education system imposes an anti-Christian, pro-homosexual agenda on homeschools?  The Alberta government is considering a law that would require homeschools to teach that homosexuality is not a sin.  Kevin Swanson interviews Paul Faris from Canada’s Home School Legal Defense Association on this development.
